Some words I would rather do without!

I have heard people using some of these words in their colloquial every day English far too often. I have got irritated by these words each time I have heard them and today I am just trying to list them down. Some of them are probably very innocent, harmless words, but for some reason, I don't like them.

1. Words like "wanna" and "gonna" - You can be an American if you want to, but I don't like it being used. Period.

2. Awesome - Overly overused

3. Rocking, Lets rock - overused again! Kind of lost its meaning because of that..

4. Sexy - I fail to understand how anything and everything can be sexy, right from something like a design document to some restaurant to somebody's dress or to some real person. For a very long time actually, I thought only a "person" could be sexy!

5. Well - What does this word mean any way? Didn't it mean being "well" as in not being "sick". But the use of this word at the start of every sentence kind of makes me sick in fact. When a person starts his / her sentence with a "Well...", I start getting doubts. Is he serious, is he being sarcastic, is he not sure of what he is saying?. And at the end of such a sentence, I can almost never really judge that person's intention. Find its use very dubious.

Perhaps there are some more, will update this blog if I remember of any or worse than that come across them again in the coming days :-)
